Authorities-compliant from a single source: Whether it's data protection law, IT security or whistleblower protection. We understand compliance as a societal overall task. As an institute-organised body, our thematic focus lies in the areas surrounding European and German federal data protection law and their relation to digitalisation. Our sphere of activity therefore extends to raising public awareness of data protection and digitalisation, researching new specialist issues and teaching. The institute also offers special educational programmes for data protection officers as well as advanced and further training.

Furthermore, we deal with the issues of official data protection law for public bodies. Here, the focus is particularly on reconciling the protection of citizens' freedoms with administrative law and special administrative law. In doing so, we always consider the relation to topics such as e-government and digital administration.
