Silicon Valley Europe – Leading role in Europe through digitalization and sustainability
Darmstadt, 7 November 2024 – The city of Dietzenbach has been awarded the “TOP-Organisation” quality seal for 2024 by the renowned Silicon Valley Europe. This honour recognises Dietzenbach’s outstanding achievements in the areas of digitalisation and sustainability and underscores the city’s leading role in national and European comparison.
The high-calibre jury of Silicon Valley Europe emphasised in its reasoning that Dietzenbach stands out through its consistent and long-term commitment to digital transformation and sustainable urban development. Compared with other strongly engaged cities and municipalities in Germany and Europe, Dietzenbach claims a unique pioneering role.
Particularly impressive is the city’s pioneering position in the field of digitalisation. With its comprehensive fibre-optic infrastructure, trailblazing smart-city initiatives and the planned CO₂-neutral data centre from EdgeConneX, Dietzenbach is setting new benchmarks for a modern and sustainable economic strategy. These digital advances combine technological innovation with ecological responsibility and have placed Dietzenbach at the forefront of urban transformation across Europe.
Dietzenbach also demonstrates exceptional commitment in the area of sustainability. From energy-efficient construction projects to extensive environmental initiatives, the city pursues an integrative approach to combine economic growth with climate protection. At the virtual summit of German municipalities, the dikomm – Zukunft digitale Kommune, on 14 and 15 November 2024, Michael Krtsch, Head of Economic Development for the district town of Dietzenbach, will deliver the opening keynote and present the vision and new strategic goals. All European digitalization officers and representatives from cities and municipalities are invited and can register for the event free of charge. The Silicon Valley Europe, as the organizer of dikomm 24, expects around 500 virtually connected cities and municipalities from across Germany.
