If it doesn’t fit, make it fit!

Manufacturer Gigaset recommends mounting its  multi-cell solutions N870 IP PRO and N670 IP PRO with the DECT transmitters at least 10 cm away from the wall. However, suitable spacers were not available for purchase until recently.

As we at BBCom are known for finding simple solutions to common problems, we promptly had such holders produced for our customers. (Naturally in Germany!)

We would be happy to provide them to the partners of Silicon Valley Europe as well.

Precise positioning optimizes radio coverage, reduces reflections and ensures a stable DECT connection.

What can limit the range of DECT transmitters?

Metallic structures (e.g., steel beams) interfere with the DECT signal. This often leads to:

  • Reflections: Steel reflects radio waves, causing multipath effects. The signal reaches the receiver distorted or delayed, degrading voice quality.
  • Signal attenuation: Steel can significantly reduce signal strength, limiting the range of the DECT transmitter. (Laypeople are often tempted by the design of the transmitters to mount them flush with T-beams, which only allows forward radiation.)
  • Connection drops: In some cases, this can even lead to complete connection drops, making communication difficult in everyday work.
